Kidney Transplant

Kidney Recipient

The recipient suffers from a disease that leads to kidney failure. A recipient may receive a kidney from a living donor or a deceased donor.

Living Donor

This is often a friend or a relative of the recipient. The donor has two functioning kidneys and will donate one of them.

Deceased Donor

This is a person who donates his or her organs to various recipients in the event he or she dies from an accident.
